.357 with 180gr hard cast

I don't have exact data for this load but have calculated that 13gr WW296 will work. None of my data has a 180gr load for the .357 I would like for ya'll to check your data. Please.

Hodgdon shows 13.5 gr H110/W296 for a jacketed 180 gr. I run 15.0 gr H110 for a 358429 in my Rossi M92 and S&W M28. With my alloy, those weigh in at 174 gr.

15 grains of H110 under a Rimrock 180 or Beartooth 185 works well for me.

I shoot 13.0gr of H-110 with a 180gr XTP. I also shoot 15.0gr of H-110 with a 158gr XTP. These loads are safely below MAX and they are very accurate in my guns. I would not want to shoot cast lead any harder than that without knowing more about the bullet.

Currently I'm shooting a 187gr Cast Performance bullet over 15.0gr H110 with a mag primer. I'm slowly working up. this is out of a 4" GP100.

Hodgdon's 2010 annual guide shows loads with 10 different powders, including W296 using a 180gr.

I know I used to lob the 180 RCBS rifle bullet in an old Dan Wesson with 12 gr 296. I thought it was a good combination. Never worked up to 13 gr so dunno...should be fine tho

Thanks! I have data for hard cast in the .357 up to 200gr projectiles. After looking and cyphering I think this might be a good load for a hard cast. I will try a few and watch for pressure. The hard cast I have were told to my by the castor that they would not lead up to 1500fps.
Using the same castor I can push 290gr WFP at 1550fps with no problems in the .44mag.

I've only played with Lil'Gun powder with 180 gr cast so far, & only in my Marlin rifle. I was impressed with these loads, but can't help you with accuracy,....haven't dialed in any specific charge....
