357 maximum loads

Bought a shooter grade maxi, finally got some brass & 180 gr bullets. I have reloaded rifle ammo but never handgun. What's a favorite recipe for this caliber? Not familiar with gas check bullets either. I would appreciate any info, just target shooting for now. Gun is 10" barrel. Thanks for any info

Strong load W296, med. load W231, light load Trial Boss, you'll find 357 is very easy to reload load, way easier than rifle ammo, I believe with gas checks you can reload using jacked data unlike cast loads with lighter data.

I believe you want to use small rifle primers and a good powder for those heavy bullets would be H-110/W-296.

+1. I use 20 grs under either the 180 gr XTP or Partition.

Agreed. 20 to 22 grns of 4227 is the max with a 180 JHP in my Maxes. Each one is uniuqe on the top end though.
