I have a Hawkeye Guide gun in 338 RCM. Right now the only factory ammo available comes with the Hornady SST in 200 and 225 grains, and their GMX in 185 grains. All 3 shoot good in my gun and pretty much to the same POI. I didn't draw a bear tag for MN this year (again :x ), but I got an invite to hunt bear in Maine. I'm leaning towards the 225 SST's if I use a rifle. Any suggestions??

I haven't started loading for this caliber yet, but all I need are the dies and bullets. Well possibly different powder. I have H-4895 on hand. I'm leaning towards 210 grain No$ler Partitions or 210 grain Barnes TTSX bullets. Any members here loading for this caliber have any pet loads? Preferred powder or bullet?

Lymans 50th Edition has 185gr, 200gr, 210gr, 215gr, 225gr, and 250gr data with 7 different powders listed.
H4895 is one listed for all those weight bullets.

Hodgdon has a ton of data online for the 338 RCM at their website.
