.327 Mag, or .38 Spl?

I have a old single six in .32 H&R mag. Also own a bushel full of .357`s and .38 specials. It shoots about like a .22 to me recoil wise. Next to no recoil. It does have a little sharp bark.
Sure, a 357 loaded with 38`s will give mild recoil but they also are a little heavier to pack too.
Between the two I would just go ahead and buy what appeals to her. A lot can be said for the ammo available factor too. Personally, I own a ton of smiths, colts and rugers in all calibers. (Because I am a old collector and most were bought many years ago). My wife and I live to trail ride with our ATV. My favorite packing gun is also one of my cheapest. I mostly pack a S&W model 36 with the 3" barrel. It`s their small J frame. (.38 special) Mine is a old one when they still made them with the light pencil barrel. Later ones have the straight heavier barrel. It`s super light and handy. Recoil isn't a problem. My wife shot it and said, "This one is mine!" I carry it with rubber Pachmyer grips that are thin but hand filling with a pancake holster that rides high and tight. A light combo that is just right. It`s the top gun in the pancake.

I would go with 38 as you can buy it in mild target loads or up to +P and it is about everywhere. If you might shoot it then a 357 and she can shoot 38s out of it.
