I have several types of older ammo in 32 caliber that I have been hanging on to for sentimental reasons.

I know that S&W 32 can be used in my Ruger 32 H&R Mag, but what about the Colt 32's.

Thanks

I have used 32 colt in my single six 32 mag. at first by mistake. Some colt cases are larger diameter, older verses newer. Smaller cases split or bulged.

I think your larger diameter .32 Colt cases were actually .32 Colt "New Police" which is the same/interchangeable with .32S&W Long. As Will Terry said the .32 Colt Short and Long were Heeled Bullet cartridges, .3180 at the case mouth. The .32S&W/.32Colt NP case is .3370 at the case mouth. .32 Colt Long also slightly larger at the base just ahead of the rim than the others, .381 versus .375. Dimensions from Ken Howell's book, "Designing and Forming Custom Cartridges"
