I went through my .32 pistol ammo & found some I forgot about.....

I reload both .32 S&W Long & .32 H&R mag cartridges with cast & swaged lead bullets from 90 to 115 grs in weight. My favorite powder is for reloading them seems to be Red-Dot.

I believe this is my favorite calibre to shoot for the fun factor. I also like them for hunting small game in my rifle, they also have scared the heck out of, & killed a few crows & tin cans real good too.....

Any of you folks shoot .32 pistol ammo? Let's hear about it please, I can't seem to get enough fun from this calibre.... 8)

Sooo, you just happened to find a whole bunch of .32 ammo? I kinda like the little buggers and have several .32 revolvers. I also have 1,500 lead .32 bullets to load if that tells you anything. I havn't met anybody who's shot my .32's that didn't like them--a lot! I really only like the smaller platforms though; I and J frame S&W's, D frame Colts, and Ruger Single Sixes. They're so pleasant to shoot that it puts a smile on your face every time you pull the trigger. What's not to like?

I don't have anywhere near that much factory 32 cal ammo. My stuff is mostly reloads. But,, I too enjoy them. My 327 mag gets a fair amount of use. I have a new bullet mold coming soon too!

I absolutely LOVE the 32 H&R Mag out of Rugers. I have a 3" SP101 and a 4.75" Single Six. Actually, I am waiting on a call to pick up a 6.5" Single Six tonight. Never shot a factory load, but have shot some jacketed, but a ton of cast. Really looking forward to working on some light wadcutter loads for grouse this fall.
The reason why I love the .32 so much is that they seem to be accurate, cheap to shoot, and if you push 'em hard, she sounds like a .357.

Yes, I do love the 32's. I have one 32 S&W Long Smith, 12 H&R's and 3 of the 327's that Ruger made. I have several thousand pieces of brass and loaded rounds. My father casts 2 bullets, a 93gr RN and a 115gr RNFP. I like Red Dot and Clays with the lead bullets.
I am always on the lookout for 32's, especially model 16 Smiths. I have a 4" one - great gun. Hard to find nowadays.

I'll shut up now. I could pull a cork and jaw all day about 32's.

Thanks for all the replys,....

I was recently given a Colt "police Positive" in .32 S&W Long & it is Butt Ugly, but I like the .32 calibre, so I will have to put up with, & try to enjoy it.

For a long time, supplies were hard to come by, as the .32 is not a very popular calibre here in Canada to shoot, due to it being in the prohibited class of firearms under our legislation. It has taken me more than a few years to find components & dies, but I am glad I did! I started out with the larger calibres, & have a real fondness for them too, but after acquiring a .32 I found it a lot of fun with reloading & shooting them.

Thanks again & hope you enjoy your .32's as much as I do....

I love a good 32 thread. I have shot exactly 42 rounds of factory ammo. Black Hills Cowboy load that I picked up when I first got my SS. The rest is all reloads. It's become my favorite caliber to shoot. Rarely do I make a range trip without shooting it.

Never had a hankering for the caliber till shooting Cholo's at F'burg in April. Now I'll have to buy one once I get back to Tn. Hey 32magfan you wanting to sell anything?

I handload the .32 S&W, the .32 S&W Long, the .32 H&R Mg., the .32 ACP and the 32/20.

The .32 S&W require such a small charge of AA2 that I actually had to alter a lee dipper to drop the small 1.2-2 grain charges for the old Iver Johnson revolver that I shoot them in.......I took one of the smallest Lee dippers and cut the bottom out of it, then found an Allen head set screw that would just screw into the plastic and it became an adjustable dipper that would go from nothing, to about 5 grains of AA2.

The .32 ACP is a little better and calls for charges about twice those of the old .32 S&W. The .32 Long is not a problem that way and I just use the .32 Mg dies for that.

Thus far, I have not bought dies for the .25 ACP, but I keep thinking about it. 8)

A couple of weeks ago I decided to load some 75 gr cast .311 RN bullets with my old Lee loader.
I had forgot how slow it is to reload this way, but it does the job. These little .32 Long cartridges sure are cute.

If one had to travel light in the back country, or had to stay for awhile, I would feel at ease with this set up....

I don't know which is more fun, shooting a .32 or reloading to shoot! 8)

Gosh .... that Q-Tip sure looks big! :)

I really enjoy the .32 as well. I have accumulated some single-sixes and a Marlin rifle to date although I have not fired the rifle yet. I usually load a 90g Missouri Bullet Company bullet over 3.0grains of Titegroup for 32H&R. I have had really good success with those bullets as well as the Speer semi-wadcutter.

Thanks for showing off your reloads.

I have loaded 1 "0" buckshot in the 32 S&W Long placing it right down on top of the primer, with no powder. It will make a dent in a pine board about 1/2 the diameter of the shot.

We had a neighborhood dog that liked to dump a $4 turd in my yard. The next time he came to the yard to relieve himself, I popped him in the hind quarters with that load, and away he went. No more $4 dog turds in the back lawn.

No penetration, but probably gave him a pretty good bruise. 8)

I use sixshot's load of 98 gr. RCBS cast slugs with 3 gr. WST. It does well on squirrels and fun to shoot. Works well on grouse and anything else that crosses our path.

I'm suprised how many people load red dot in .32s. I had a friend who fancies himself a gun writer give me something like 7 loads all with identical bullets and different powders. He asked me to see which was the most accurate and log the results. The red dot loads in(in .32 mag) were by far the suprise winner in the accuracy dept. I plan to load a lot of red dot in .32 when I can again get some powder.

Red Dot is fine, as is Green Dot, PB and other faster powders. I use AA2 because it measures well and the shot to shot variation is lower than anything else I have tried. 8)
