As a fan of the 32 mag, I'd say this round serves a useful purpose. It's a good reminder to stay away from bears.

If that's all one had, it's worth a try - go down fightin' - but if one knows there to be in an area with something that could willingly and wantingly do you harm, wouldn't it be sensible and worthwhile to bring a better tool for the job?
Should a circumstance develop, with adrenaline and fear in motion, putting a tiny bullet into an area that's moving in hopes of stopping said movement is slim.

Darn, where was this load when I did my article. I know a couple of people I could have let borrow a .32 and I am pretty sure I can find some bears.

This bullet has only marginally higher sectional density than .25 caliber 87 grain bullet.
Since BB is touting this load by mentioning it in connection to bears, are we to believe that BB also thinks that a 25/20 with an 87 grain bullet is viable against bears ?

I have no knowledge of the 32 cal's but I think I remember Elmer Keith writing about killing a runaway horse and some other assorted animals with a 32/20 Colt revolver. He seemed to think it was adequate in a pinch.
Granted hardly the same thing, but my Airweight.32 Mag goes with me literally everywhere. One of its possibly intended duties I hope to never encounter, is to put down a wounded deer or other animal off the highway. I had the unfortunate circumstance of coming across such a crossing accident. The "hitter" had fled the scene, but fortunately a patrolman shortly happened by and with his .357 (this was years ago) did the deed on the young mulie buck to put it out of suffering. That incident was pretty strong on the senses and stuck with me. My .357 K goes with me lots of places too, but not "as" always/everywhere. I won't argue relative effectiveness in virtually all anticipated circumstances, but I figure 100 gr of a properly placed "warm" .32 Mag would do the trick if called upon as well. I know properly-placed anything including a .22 will also, but I figure .32M even moreso. No, the .32 is not my primary in bear country

I have a feeling this is a "PC" method of Buffalo Bore marketing this as a self-defense round.......
No one in their right mind would rely on a .32, no matter how hot, to stop any kind of bear.
It's probably not much hotter than a .327 Fed. Mag.

None of the team has returned yet.
