308 #1A is here!

I got in my 308 #1A just now. The serial number is 134-328XX which in sequence with my other #1As(6.6x55. 257 Roberts, and 303). The wood is not spectacular, but nice with some figure in the stock. "308" is stamped prominently over the chamber on the left side. Natually, it came with scope rings and swivels scattered throughout the box. Fit and finish is nice. Can't wait to shoot it. Bob!

I got my Bushnell 3200 3.5x10x40 mounted on it yesterday with #4 rings, not the ones that came with the rifle. I think I'm going to load some new ammo in new WW brass with Hornady 150 SSt's over a stout but tested load of 748. This load gets just shy of 3000fps in my 24" M70 and 700 Classic. I loaded 100 rounds of Hornady 155 A-Max last weekend for to try in the Scout rifle when ever one becomes available. I guess me turning 60 made Ruger realize we all needed some more 308's. Bob!
