Catalog Number: 1-A but it's a M77 Hawkeye Standard... :? A caliber search on Ruger's site shows only the #1 and the item #, 11348 is the number for the #1A. Hmmm...

Gotta be a typo.

That would be an interesting one. Mechanically, too. They'd have to monkey with the mag quite a bit to get it to feed I'm sure.

I've got one, though, sort of a "Ruger Lee-Speed .303 Duplicator".

A short-action M77MKII .308 Ultralight.

Seriously, the thing handles like a light Lee sporter and since Ruger barrels their .308's with 1/10 twist barrels, my .308 UL handles 220 grain bullets very well. Ballistics duplicate .303 British performance with the old 215 grain bullet.

If a guy wants a light sporter giving him old-timey .303 Brit heavy-bullet performance in a rifle that handles like a scoped L-S he doesn't have to look any further.

.308 220's at 2080 fps {handload} is the polished mirror of a .303 215 running at 2004 {loads as chronographed, latter .303 old Remington factory 215's}. ;)

Yep, I think Ruger made an error on their webpage. The M77 Hawkeye in .303 is not among the items shown on the list I have for 2011.
