3 Screw Vaqueros Joe Bowman Style

Well Guys,
Here are a couple of old 357 3 screws that Alan Harton made into Vaqueros. He has done 17 like this for the late "Mr. Vaquero" Joe Bowman.
Barrels cut from 6 1/2", blackpowder bevel on the cylinders, custom made Super hammers, and re-blue along with new anodizing on the grip frame.
Without a dought the best Cowboy gun known to man :wink:

Those are a sweet looking pair! If it was not for Joe's efforts we would have never seen the Vaquero line of revolvers.

Super looking set of guns Jim, and I know you'll really like them; as you said, the best Cowboy gun known to man. I've had a set, done by Wes Flowers of Arizona, since 2002 or 3 and they've been great. Didn't know about Alan at the time, but he later did a pair of OM Single Sixes in 32 H&R for me., plus made a 32-20 cylinder for my OM 30 Carbine. Had real Colts, Colt clones prior to that and without a doubt the Rugers are the most trouble free, dependable and shoot good too, so long as I do my part.
Here's mine, which are 44 Special/44-40's, and which I've shown on the forum before but more pictures never hurt. They have Old Army grip frames, steel EJ housings, elk horn grips and Belt Mountain base pins as added items. Always wanted to have the main frames case hardened but haven't made it yet. Enjoy them and shoot the hell out of them.

I talked to Alan last week and we are going to be doing the same topstrap treatment on an old model 357 then removing the ERH boss, installing a birsdead gripframe, bisley spurred hammer and 3" heavy model 58 Smith barrel for a vest pocket rocket in 41.

Years ago, NRA Show in Phoenix, I asked Joe if I could handle one of his "Vaquero" three screw Blackhawks. I was amazed at the "shooter friendly" tuning job! Very "slick" and it obviously worked quite well! The man knew how to handle a sixgun!

Yessir, Joe was a very interesting gentleman, (though I thought his pants were way too tight!!!) and "short" :roll:

One of the reasons we have always "noted" about any comments as to "old model" or "3 screw" and it LOOKS like a Vaquero,,,,cause they DID !!! and still do......
as well as a Vaquero, that has "adjustble sights" !! they are out there................ :wink:
