.250 savage

only took a couple days.... It actually got to my "dealer" yesterday, but I didn't get the message until it was too late..

I didn't win the wood lottery, but it's no fence post either.. Overall, I'm happy..

The black front and rear sight look out of place, but I'll never look at them after I put the scope on it, so no loss there..

On a side note: the rear sling swivel stud is not polished, it is the same matte look that the trigger is.

I like it! I had the chance to handle 2 different ones, much better wood than I was expecting. You got a great looking rifle there.

Hard to beat the 250 as an all around fun shooter/deer and under hunting rifle. I like my 99 Savage better than my bolt gun in 243 and if I had the cash I would have got the No.1 too. Congrats on a sweet piece!

Saweet! I love the stainless #1's. Although my preference would be for a midnight laminate set of stocks, the set you have look better than most I've seen in my neck of the woods.

Can't cash the check until you ship the goods, very glad Ruger has so many new, and well received products recently. Exciting to think what the future offerings might include.

This is Lipsey and not Ruger. The idea was theirs and the choice of cartridge was theirs. Ruger would do better to research demand a little more. Sure some guys expressed and interst in the 30-30 but apparently not 250 adrdent buyers/owners.

The 250 Savage has already sold out the first 125. Anticipation is that final 125 will sell out as fast. Interesting that some of the Ruger offerings 30-30 etc are still around in significant numbers and for sale well below the original asking price.

Lypsey will sell every one of the 250 Savages and at MSRP. The reatailers may discount them but Lypsey didn't have to, to sell out at wholesale.

Moral: Choose your cartridge and configuration with a real interest in what people are asking for and it'll sell, at least in limited numbers.

Probably not enough demand for the 250 Savage KA to become a cataloged item but this 250 will sell like hot cakes.

PicketPin, as usual, you are right on the money. I'm going to hold out for the 250 1A in blue/walnut, which should follow eventually. My #1A in 257 should contain my 25 shooting til then. Bob!! :)

Rangerbob: That is my hope also. That this run is so sucessful that it prompts another run but in blued/walnut.

If my son wants the stainless he'll end up with it. If not it'll stay in the box and go down the road eventually. Unless I give up on waiting for blued and then the stainless will get shot and become an "AH" in the process.

One hopes they held back enough proof rounds to make the next one. ;-)
