I'm hoping to give this some testing this weekend. I tried it yesterday and found that my water filled "Darned Good Tea" jugs are brittle and simply BLEW UP when the bullets hit. Next containers are going to be super tough ag chem jugs that won't split. Can't shoot them in my backyard range so will have to haul them to an area that I don't mind killing all vegetation.
Primary contenders for ammo choice in my integrally suppressed pickup rifle (10.5" rifled section + 6" of baffles) are the Velociters and the more common Federal HVHP that has done quite well in 16" rifle barrels.

Update: Impact range 25 yards from a 10.5" Charger barrel produced significant hydrostatic action within the first 8" followed by diminishing effect through approximately 20" of water. Bullet nose opened slightly but did not exceed bullet diameter. No evidence of tumbling. This is only marginally better terminal performance than the Velociter gave when fired from the SR22 pistol nor does it expand as well as the Yellowjacket bullet when fired from the SR 22.
My perception is that this bullet would transfer more energy and cause considerably more damage in flesh than a round nose solid or the typical non-expanding HP 22 bullets.
