I bought one of these used from a friend this week. I had one of the 4" full underlug .22 SP's that I bought new in 1993. Like an idiot, I sold it a few years ago.

The paperwork envelope in the box has "March 1996" on it. I know this does not date the gun anywhere close.

When did the 2" .22's come out? - I missed these.

HINT...HINT... A.22Mag SP101 2" loaded with Hornady Critical Defense rounds would not be the worst thing a person could carry around, especially if they were recoil sensitive.

Can someone help me on the manufacturing date? I'm really not interested in corresponding with Ruger for this info.

Thanks,

Nice pickup, I would love to find a 2" sp101 in 22lr. I have a six shot 4" with the full lug and it is the only gun my wife will shoot. I wonder if they'll make an 8 shot 2" sp101. I would buy one for my wife in a heart beat.

I bought one of the 2" .22's a few years back and I love it. Its way more accurate than a snubbie has a right to be. I would love to make it a set and buy one of the new 4" adjustible sight ones to go with it.
