22lr ammo price check

I wouldn't know as I have not seen any 22 LR in over 18 months. At that time what I found was American Eagle for $5 a box of 50. TD

This past week, our local Cabelas has had quite a bit of .22 on the shelves -they stll have a limit of 100 rounds/per trip/per person. CCI in various powers from $4-5/50 up to Stingers at $8/50... Some Remington and Aguila in the same price range. Very little bulk .22 when I've been there in the mid-mornings. I did find some Federal 325 bulk at Gander Mountsin (both of these are stores in Fort Worth, TX by the way) at $22.99/box. Grabbed a couple both times I was in there over the weekend.

Picked up 3 boxes (50 rounds each)of CCI standard velocity for $3.50 each at Walmart a couple of days ago. Velocity is 1070 fps. I have not shot them yet, so I don't know if they will cycle my 10/22 rifle or Mk III pistol. I have always used high velocity rounds.

Shouldn't have any problem with CCI SV. Just fired a new MK III Hunter with them and absolutely no problems. Up to 600 rounds through it, about 300 rounds of SV and 300 rounds of Federal AutoMatch.

Can't respond to performance with the 10/22. Always have used HV.

I was at the Lakeland Fl gunshow yesterday. 500 Thunderbolt was $60, Win 555 was $75. CCI Stingers were $12 for box 50, 9mm WWB is about the same at Bass pro. .22 WMR was $25/box 50, $3 less than 50 rds of 5.7. Seemed like piles of .22's on a dozen tables but I'm not paying $.10/rd until I shoot up the last 10K I got on hand. My wife used to jab me for buying 4 550 rd boxes, spending $40 every time we went to Wallyworld. Now not so much.

I used to be a hoarder, but it turned out I was just clairvoyant. :twisted:

In a store today with lots and lots of .22 on the shelf from a few different manufacturers. $39 per 500 rounds the cheapest to $65 per 500. Yellow jackets were $14 per 100...

just paid $29.99 for 525 Remington golden bullet - first I've seen in months & double what I paid for it when I last bought any. Limit was one box. TD

Academy in Mission Texas had Aquilla standard velocity for $3.88 for 50 limit 2. CDNN sports runs sales flyers for $50 for 500. The last I bought was late last year at Wally in Bolivar, Mo, White Box Winchester for $11 for 222 rounds, limit 1.

Bought a box of 500 at Cabelas yesterday. They were Federals in the nifty wooden box. I think they were 33.99.

Just keep piling them in the closet, with the rest I've bought over
the years.

Prices are 5cents to just under 6cents (.057cents). Some boxes
not shown.

Federal golden bullet 36 grain Hollow Points......$21.97 per 525 bulk pack at Michigan Walmarts this week. Limit of 3 boxes. Should keep me shooting through the summer anyway.

CCI Minimags are $6.95/100 at my local Wally World. I have bought 20 boxes in the past few weeks. Academy has the tubs of Remington Golden Bullets for ~$65-70. I bought a couple of bricks of Blazer Brass .22 LR at Cabelas for $27 each. FWIW, most Wal-Mart now keep the .22 behind the gun counter and not one the shelves now. I just happened to ask last night and they had some 550 Winchester for $23.75. I bought a box, even thought I didn't need any more. I can buy 22 lr any time I need them now. I couldn't believe that at the last gun show in my area, the 550 Winchester were priced at $65 and CCI Minimags at $25. They got mad when I was telling customers where they could buy them for MUCH less! I know where they bought them, they stood in line at WM at 4:00 am to buy all they had when the trucks came in with them. Now WM puts their ammo out at random times, mainly around 7:00-8:00 on weekdays, or so that is when I've bought mine.

I live in NH and find it very hard to get .22lr at all never mind at a good price. I only snaged one box of Winchester 333's in the past two years at my local walmart.. Ya I also hit any Walmart I pass when ever out and about.. I will not pay high prices till I'm out.. Needless to say I don't shoot my .22lr much . Other cal. are easy to get just not .22lr's.. Does any have a clue as to what the true msrp for 22 ammo is these days? I just purchase a bulk pack of 500 Remington for $32, something I wouldn't even have considered two years ago. Honestly I haven't purchase 22 ammo for over two years because I have refused to pay the outrageous prices asked in my area. I have seen the same ammo I purchase sell or over $70. Personally I think $32 is too high but maybe that is what it should be, the last time I bought some it was $18 at Walmart. Does anyone know what bulk pack 22 should go for? If $32 is a reasonable price maybe I'll start buying again.
