Anybody here shoot or reload this caliber?
I got a bunch of brass in a package deal months ago …. More than I’ll ever use and thinking of moving some of it along.

Am I correct that new brass brings in the $1 each range and used at 50 cents?

Seems nobody on line has it in stock these days though.

Yeah I recall it. What happened? Did the 22/250 spell it's demise? Heard that 225 Win. was suppose to replace the 220 Swift but no cigar. Swift made a comeback.

I have my Father's Sako in 222mag. I have been able to find a good amount of brass, posted an ad here a in the classifieds and had placed an order at Midsouth and was on backorder, had forgotten about the order and they emailed me it was in stock and at the "old" price and did I still want it, I bought it. I might be interested in a few more. PM me if you want to turn some of it loose.

222 Rem Mag is a very nice caliber to reload and shoot. At least I enjoyed mine when I had it.

I have a like new set of dies, Pacific I think, if anybody needs them.

I always assumed the .223 wiped interest in the .222 Mag out?

I didn’t know anything about the caliber until I inherited a Remington 700 ADL with carbine length barrel. Nice shooting gun.

I got the 222rem confused with the 222rem mag . There is a real good read on the history of the 222 mag at Wikipedia . This cartridge was developed in 1958 for the military for the Ar. It had problems as to length in a semi . My neighbor bought a NIB rem. 700 Mid-pandemic at a local auction . Ithink it was a 700 classic ? Beautiful gun !

Have an older 722 in 222mag. It is an easy round to shoot and load for. The velocities are good and I decided to sell my 22-250 as the mag covered at least more than half of the 22-250s reach. and the 25-06 took over the rest. Then there is bbl life...double or more for the 222 mag vs 22-250. Just a more fun round to play with. I also have a first year 722 in 222. Both are better shooters than me. Shot a yote last winter with the mag. easy 300 yd. DRT. one small hole in the hide. Had it tanned for my grandson.

I bought a Winchester 770 the had been rechambered to 222 Rem Magnum 40 years ago with dies and brass from the local gun shop. I put a Bushnell 4x12 scope an it and used it for quite a few years with the old Speer 52 grain Hot Core hollow point. This was the most accurate sporter weight rifle that I have ever fired. I eventually traded it in on a new Winchester Big Bore 94 in 375 Winchester. I still have the 375 but have wished I had never gotten rid of the 770. I replaced the 770 with a 40X in 223 about 20 years ago.
