While I agree the .22 magnum aint no man stopper, it can be a damned good deterrent. :)

It is not too bad a man stopper! Compared to the old .38 158 round nose it does a very good job. Of course any modern .38 round is much, much better than those were. The new personal defense .22 mag rds are probably a bit better than the CCI 40 gr HP Mini-Mag which I am comparing to the .38 RN also. This is only my experience. YMMV. Nice gun there! :D

I always liked the .22 Magnum. I just wish I could afford to shoot it more :)

I agree it's too pricey to shoot a lot. I don't understand the extreme difference in prices of the magnums and LR loads. A couple of yrs ago I bought a bunch of the Win 45 gr Dynapoint magnums at $7 bucks a box at Wal-Mart. Still have about a dozen or more boxes. It was much cheaper than other offerings and is more accurate in my gun than the other magnum loads and the various .22 LRs . A heavier bullet at lower velocity than the other magnums, it still should work well on small game or make an intruder right sick. :)
