Hello. Fng here. I've searched for fitment info regarding a 22/45 upper on my Mark 1 frame. (I bought it new 1978, my first pistol. A 6-7/8".) I found a lot of info about fitting to a Mark 2 or 3, but nothing on a Mark1. I understand the dent on the 22/45 lug and how to reduce it, if necessary. Are there any other issues that would stop these parts from going together. Thanks very much.

The 22/45 receiver can be fitted to your Mark I generation frame. You'll have the same issues anyone desiring to place a 22/45 receiver onto a metal frame has where you must remove or lessen the peen dent to the front lug well of the receiver enough to fit it onto the front lug of your host frame. The 22/45 receiver will operate in the same manner as a Mark I would in this configuration.

Thanks very much. The 22/45 receiver does not have a bolt in it. Will my Mark 1 bolt work in the 22/45 without modification?

As DA Wood said, your bolt will operate fine inside the later generation receiver, in fact you will need to use the older bolt so the thumb safety can latch and hold the bolt open for loading and unloading.

If the 22/45 upper is a MKIII 22/45 upper, you will need to remove the LCI to use a MKI bolt

I believe it is a Mark 3. It's actually a 22/45 Lite with top and bottom rails. I am only familiar with the Mark 1. I knew the new models had a loaded chamber indicator, but I've never looked at one. I do some of my own gun work. Hopefully the removal won't be difficult. Thanks again.

I have never seen a LITE with both upper & lower rails???
are you sure it isn't a model 10149 all steel barrel/receiver?

He may have not described it correctly. When I see it in person I can check it out. Thanks and take care.
