You need to decock the hammer. This is done by:
1. Insert mag (MKIII)
2. Hold pistol vertical, muzzle down
3. Depress the trigger
4. rap the muzzle with sharp downward strokes onto a padded surface.

This may take a number of very sharp raps on the padded surface. I've used a carpeted floor.
