Anybody know where I could see this New Bearcat ad online? Just thought it might be interesting. Ruger's 2008 catalog shows the first 1958 ad. I have a different 1958 ad that I saved and printed from an eBay listing. I've Googled and Yahooed for the 1993 ad, but no luck.

"The 'Cat is back! And the 'Cat is better than ever because now the 'Cat can change its spots"........

Page from the '93 Ruger Catalog. The convertibles didn't last long......

Thanks a bunch. I didn't know it was in the catalog. I did know about the timing issues with the convertibles. Only about a thousand of them were made. In the "News" section of the Ruger website, it says they didn't resume production until 1996.

I still don't swallow the "timing" issue. I think it was "operator error".....

Convertible Bearcats are very interesting.

I received a consecutive pair in Dec. of '93 and a few years later picked up the "third".

Doesn't make sense to me, either. Six holes in the mag cylinder, just like the LR one. Same pawl. Should line up the same, no problem. I think one of their lawyers ate something bad, and that was the result.

:D That there is funny...........

Me? I think short stroking the hammer while fanning or severe lack of lockwork manipulation skills caused the problems.

Oh, well, the current collector value on those BC-4 convertibles is darn near $1K/gun........ :D
