They are nice. Bought one back around 77, and still have it. Was just thinking about it tonight and that I need to get it out and shoot it. I've done a couple of mods to mine, got rid of the old spring barrel bushing, slightly rounded the rear sights, and put on pachmayrs.

Lovely firearm - I only have 1911's in my collection of handguns. I used to have several different types of Semi-Automatic pistols, but I sold them all eventually, including a pristine 9MM Browning Hi-Power. 1911's are my soul buddies. Here's one of my favorites - a 1962 National Match build off a 1943 Remington Rand frame.

I have one that I got for 5 bucks yep 5 bucks! I went to and auction back in 1980 and bought a old stage coach strong box full of old hand tools.
I bought it for the box it was a Wells Fargo strong box.
I was the only one to bid on it and got it for 5 bucks.
Took it home dumped the box out on the garage floor and in the very bottom was a box wrapped in a towel.
Inside the box was a Gold cup that looked like it had never even been fired. It has been fired many many times since then.

I sold or threw away the tools many years ago and sold the strong box to a guy that was rebuilding an old stage coach a couple years back for way more then I paid for it. If I remember right I threw in some of the tools that were in it when I sold him the box.

I mine's an '89, but for some reason came with a series 70 collet bushing (since replaced with a EGW thick flange).

Very nice 1911s guys. One of my uncles used to shoot a Gold Cup in bullseye. He did very well with it. I always wanted one like his or his if he were to sell it. Instead I settled on a Springfield Trophy Match. It shoots really well too but it isn't a Colt.

Here is my old GI warhorse, a 1911 from 1918. I've had this one over 50 years. Don 't have a pic of my Gold Cup but its had plenty of use over the past 35 years.
