1976 No. 1

I got this rifle the 17Jan2017 in 7 mm Mag and by the serial number made 1976.
After reading in the Book by Mr. Clayton it was stated by him that all 1976 No. 1 were roll marked with "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty" on the barrel. Is this a "sent in stone fact"?
The reason for the question is that mine does not have this roll mark.

If your going by the sr.no. it may not have been made in 76,Ruger didnt follow sr.no sequence during manufacture.

Not clear to me if you bought the rifle 1/17/1976 or last week. If last week, the serial# would help us explain your rifle. If 41 years ago, your rifle was probably made in 1975 or earlier.
