1950's Ruger Blackhawk / Super Blackhawk???

I am attempting to get some idea of what this person has. He wants to sell and I asked for the serial number. He provided this ...
"44 magnum
20382 8299" .......I have asked for a clarification but have not received a reply. I am a long way from this person and he is unable to send photos. Can anyone clarify? I did check the serial number and it makes no sense. David

That is not a Ruger serial number. I would definately request a pic BEFORE entering in such a "deal."

I believe that the serial number is one or the other of those. Possibly the other is a number on a different part of the revolver.

Finally.....serial number is 82XX and it is a 1959 manufacture Blackhawk 44 with original box, papers and bill of sale. Has been used very little and appears near new. Waiting for a reply from owner regarding price......nervous. Dave

Just completed the deal. I am happy to have it. The bad news is that I am away from home until March 21st so will not get it until then. Bummer!

Much clearer now! A 4 digit made in 1959 should be a Flattop 44. If you get the correct box & such, you got a good one!

If its a BLACKHAWK, its a 1958 ser.# / if its a SUPERBLACKHAWK its a 1962 model. regardless, they are both GREAT GUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! congrats on a good find. W.C.
