I picked thìs up this morning at my lgs finally. Paid 1140 dollars total out the door. Everything seems right on it and good fit and finish. Took it out in the back yard and shot a few rounds and everything worked well. I will sight it in later. It can keep my 45-70 company. I like it, it's 1 pound lighter than the 45-70.

I picked up a Marlin 1894p in .44 Magnum from a friend who got it for Cowboy Action Shooting and wasn't allowed to use it because of the ported barrel and crossbolt safety. He named a price and I couldn't get the money out of my pocket fast enough!

I bought a Henry Big Boy Silver in .357. It's a beautiful gun, fully polished aluminum receiver, barrel band, and buttplate. 20" octagon barrel. I put 5 rounds through it- it is smooth as butter and runs great. but it also weighs 8.6 lbs. With my neck and shoulder issues the only way I could comfortably shoot it would be on a bag. I was going to donate it to our local FD raffle seeing as its basically new in the box, but they decided they didn't want to deal with firearms. So in the next few days I'm going to see if there is a local shop that has a .357 Marlin and is willing to do a "fair" trade. Wish me luck!
