A local pawn has a beat-up 150 series 4" blued Security six for $400 I was checking out. I've got large hands, so I would want to replace the service stocks. But just researching the subject, it doesn't look like anyone makes grips that would fit?

CDNN sells old stock Siles, but they don't specify what series they fit. Without larger grips, this gun would be a pass for me. I only saw 2 options on eBay, and didn't really like either pair. I also heard Herretts, but nothing is listed on the website.

Any 150 series grips out there?

Thanks.

….. needle in a haystack ……

Now, if you could live with the factory grips and a Tyler T Grip, the Tylers fit the Low Back too

Best bet is to peruse eBay and Gunbroker for Jay Scott or Herrett grips (Shooting Stars are nice grips) or custom grips. As said, a Tyler T Grip will also help with OEM grips to fill your hand better. You can also check https://www.gunpartscorp.com/ periodically to see what they have in stock.

I'll look at my Six series parts bins to see what I may have, but can't guarantee anything.

A #8 Tyler T-Grip fits the Ruger Six Series. I am not sure if a BK grip will work. The guy running Tyler T-Grip is slow but he has always delivered

I went to BK's sight. Some are reporting the Colt D grip adaptor works. I also went back to verify it was a low back 150 series. It is. I'm still kicking it around.

I did find this nice S&W 67-6 .38 Spl. yesterday at another shop for $499. I was looking for a HB model 15, but this is the closest I found. And although not a classic, it seemed pretty solid. Dates to 2008.

As much as I like the idea of .357 mag, I really only shoot .38 Spl. And I already have a few other .357 mags if I need a step-up in power.

I have a decent set of used Herrett's for the old frame Security Six and would trade them for the factory grips if the factory ones are decent.

Thanks for the offer, but I’d have to see what condition they are in. The gun was pretty beat.

I have a set of the e-bay grips; the seller and I lived close and we fit all his grips to my 150, to check fit. In return, I got the prettiest set (see attached). I also tried a set of Sack Peterson Merlino Ram (see attached). I eventually found a nice set of originals and went that way. If interested, IM me and we can work something out. Regards, Mike

So after passing on the 150 low back due to the grip issue, I found this 154 series (1979-ish) at a local shop today for $350. Even had on my preferred grips.
GEEZ! For a minute, I thought you had my gun! Pretty sure I have the same grips? Pachmayrs?

I've been waiting just over 20 months now and no word, message, email, letter, nothing. I've sent him several correspondences since December 2022 with no acknowledgement other than cashing my check a week after I sent it. I knew he was slow. I expected to wait a while. I heard everyone else's stories and got in line. I didn't expect to be ripped off. I hope he enjoyed spending the funds I sent him. He didn't earn it.

I have another solution, if you prefer rubber grips or just don't want to spend a ton Pachmayr grips for the later models can be made to fit.

This isn't my picture but I use it often, see the pin at the bottom of the frame the arrow is pointing to? If you punch out that pin the Pachmayr grips for the later models will work just fine. Not an exact perfect fit but they do fit, especially the Gripper model. Here's my lowback Six with Pachmayr grips. I got a good deal on actual 150 grips so no longer use the Pachmayrs but I would've had no issue using the Grippers.

The locator pin will punch right back in if you ever need it to so no harm no foul. I know that the Grippers work 100% for sure. I'm pretty sure the Presentation grips do too but I can't say for certain. The Presentations I have were stretched to fit and came from another 150 gun. The Grippers do have a little bit of material that goes above the frame but it's a non issue. You could freeze em and sand em down if it bothers you but I didn't mind it.
