Heliman and I have very similar 10/22 Tacticals. Otherwise conventional, except they both have very short, and very heavy barrels. His is an unmarked after-market barrel. Mine is straight from the factory.
His...
Mine...
From the moment I shot his, I stated it was the most accurate 10/22 I've ever shot. And at that time, all we have ever shot in his, or in mine, was off-the-shelf plinking and/or hunting ammo. I was pleased with my rifle too, but his was the best shooting of the two.
We'd discussed, and wondered, how much better they might shoot with high quality/high dollar target ammo. Well today, Heliman showed up with a box of Eley. We shot it in both guns. I am quite pleased with these results, shot at 50-yards.
Heliman's rifle, a 20-shot group!
And my group, just 10-rounds, but I'm quite pleased!
Each of us had one hole outside the cluster. Discounting those, both groups could be covered with a nickel. And it was windy!
WAYNO.
