I picked up a 10/22 today with a yellowish gold loooking reciever. The band and trigger housing are the same color with the barrel being SS? Is this a factory run or a custom? :?:
Looks like a standard stainless steel model that has something funky going on with the anodizing on the receiver and trigger group. Never seen any colored 10/22s and I would think if it was intended to be colored it would be a much more solid color. Have you tried cleaning it at all? I have a browning BLR with a alloy receiver the receiver is very slightly tinted this color if I leave oil on it it gets real gold. Little degreaser and it is back to almost a dull grey. I would pull the action from the stock and see what the unexposed areas look like and pull the scope base and see what is underneath.
I agree with mike7mm08 above... probably just a color change over time.... one really really good grab for $139 for sure.... if you see anymore like that and happen to be on my (east) side of GA, please let me know
Never seen such a color - didn't leave the factory that way, I'm sure. Now...that scope set-up with those ultra high rings using the rimfire groove ...must be a heck of a cheek weld to get aligned correctly.
