Im going to send my trigger group off the Brimestone Gunsmithing to smooth out my trigger and lower the pull. I dont want to spend money on a aftermarket group. And i know i cud drop in sear and hammer but i want to keep it original.

My problem is i dont know anybody with a trigger in the 2-3 lb range. One friend has a hunting rifle with a trigger set at 4.3lbs. Thats as low as i can find that the weight is known.

I am getting it done on a hunting rifle so i was thinking 2.5-3.5 lbs.

If yall could please offer your experiences and recommendations i would appreciate it.

When I do a 10-22 trigger group I only go to 2.75 at the low end; 3.0 is a better weight, IMHO.

PM me if you want a better price.

2.5 to 3 sounds about right... actually I think zero creep and a clean break is more important than the actual weight.... since, and especially with hunting, you want to keep your finger off the trigger until the target is in your sights.

Yup.

For a strictly hunting rifle, I'd recommend something around 4 lb. For a paper-puncher, something between 1-1/2 and 2 lb.

Right around 3 lbs would be my choice. I have a few hunting rifles a bit lower, usually no or very thin gloves.

Brimestone did my 10/22 TD. Its at 2.5 pounds and it feels very smooth with nearly no takeup.

I put in a competition hammer my TD and my trigger weight went from 4 lb. to 2 lb. It's a joy to shoot!
