Is there any specific guidance on barrel retainer screw torque? I noticed mine are loose during full teardown for cleaning.

Thanks

Snug and a bit more - no ft lbs that I go by. Then again, I never remove it or the barrel for cleaning either.

I've had a 10/22 Target for about 10 years. Shot it sporadically, from zero rounds/year to several hundred at a time. Probably around 2000 rounds thru it now.

Have been waiting for some kind of actual mechanical issue to require disassembly. So far, just the most basic of brush & wipe down have been needed.

It just keeps getting more accurate the more I shoot it.

With a Tasco high end 12-36x40 scope, bipod from bench, it will eat the X-ring out of a standard 50' Bulls Eye target at a measured 40 yards.

It's the most accurate rifle I have.

Plus one, on my 10/22 Sporter. Re-snugged once after second range trip, still good several trips later.

Some how 15lbs is the number I came up with when I read your questions... but I think Blkhawk73 has it right in both that snug and a bit more is right. check them and if they tend to get loose use some lock tight.
