What distance do you sight in your 10-22 for plinking and small game? With iron sights? With scope? So far I have used 50 yards for both but my old eyes make 50 yards for iron sights, at least the stock sights, difficult.

My squirrel getter has a straight 4x scope with a circle-X reticle. On a 1" target it puts em all in the top half at 25 yards and in the bottom half at 50 yards. Head shots out to 60 yards are pretty routine. My Match 10/22 is set dead on at 50 yards. My Charger is sighted in at 25 yards with a red dot and when I put a 2x6 scope on it I have it sighted at 50 yards. The intersection where the thin cross hair meets the heavy cross hair happens to be dead on at 100 yards. I have taken prairie dogs out past that distance with it.

I sight most of mine for 1" high at 25 and it is only about 1" low at 75... using High Velocity ammo.

I think the practical range for the 10/22 is between 25 and 75 yards... so sight it in (scope, red dot, or iron) at 50 and you are dead in the middle. If you have to be more than an inch accurate then use Kentucky Windage when sighting in.
