Fella's;

OK, what I'm looking for is information about the 10/22 RSI's. Such as:

When did they first come out? Are there different editions? I think some are with a walnut stock & later ones not, what year did the change come? I also know now that there were Wal-Mart variants, what years were they produced? Was there more than one Wal-Mart edition? If so, what are the differences? Were the stainless ones ever available with the walnut stock? Or are all stainless equipped with walnut?

The above is the kind of info I'd like to know. I've just aquired one and am interested about them. Other important data to me would be information about finding rings & a nice scope that match the finish.

There are two distinct production eras.

Old production was 1966-69, with walnut stocks (some factory checkered).

Consumer demand, long after discontinuation, led to New Production, introduced in 1994-2003, IIRC - without the cherished walnut stocks.
New stocks were first stained Birch only, followed by stainless/wood and stainless/laminates.

The only thing I remember about the WW versions is that the rifle had to be purchased in order to obtain the black Cordua sling with the red Ruger embroidery on it.

.

When the re-released 10/22 International came out in about 1992 in blue and stainless, the first birch stock guns also did not have checkering. Many people balked at this and a few months later they were coming with checkering.
