Does anyone have recommendations for a 'softer' action spring for use with sub-sonic ammo? I sort of remember seeing various 'weights' sold by one of the parts companies but can't remember which. Thanks
The purpose of the lighter spring is to let the gun cycle reliably with subsonic ammo.Sometimes I just don't know, and this is one of them. I'm lost. I can't imagine an actual recoil problem with sub-sonic .22s - I use them often - so I'm guessing the "softer" spring may have an effect on what minimal noise there is, but have no understanding on how this could be. I am not disagreeing, I am just looking for knowledge. Thanks in advance.
I never thought of it because only used subsonics in bolt action rifles. Experience is knowledge- thank you!The purpose of the lighter spring is to let the gun cycle reliably with subsonic ammo.
My experience is any .22 load rated at 1250fps or less will be subsonic from most pistols (i.e., up to about 6" of barrel). Rifles are obviously a different case."I use full powder 22LR rounds in my suppressed 10/22 and my suppressed MKII pistol (amphibian) (AWC makes great suppressors!)"
Really makes little difference how good your suppressor is if the bullet makes a sonic pop.
