10/17 barrel

Someone? Anyone? Keep in mind this is for a model that never reached production.

Is the barrel roll-marked for the 10/17, or just the caliber, and are we talking HMR or HM2?

Ruger did make quite a few 96/17Ms with .17HMR barrels, so if it's a dual extractor cut HMR barrel it may be off one of those. I used one on one of my 10/22Ms before I bought the Volquartsen HMR.

It's a single extractor bbl. Barrels aren't roll marked for a model. Gotta believe it's origin since it's current owner was one that helped in the development of the gun and cartridge and owns one of the 6 completed 10/17's produced.

So, it's an HMR barrel then?

I know production models are marked on the receiver, but you know documentation is everything, so since the barrel isn't marked...

Guess I should've mention that the barrel IS marked with the chambering and in the same script as usual. I'm 100% certain this is factory and not a 96/17 bbl. The gentleman that owns this bbl, also owns one of the 10/17's which IS marked as such on it's receiver.
