A Buddy sent me link to 10" FT 44 mag. He asked how many were made when it brought $6400. I looked in Ruger SA 53-63 and was suprised that production number was not in there. It said 2-3% of production was 7 1/2" and 10". Does anyone know how many 10" 44 FT's were mfg'd. Thks

According to the RENE Guide,, There were a total of 29860 OM .44 FT guns made. Of that number,, the Type 4 variation, which included the BKH-40 model, there were only about 1500 BKH-40's made.

Old number was 750.....I recall Chad thinking 1500. Still a rare bird due to initial runs and those wore out, destroyed, or shortened. Not sure what went on with those two bidders with apparent large billfolds. Frankly, I questioned the high finish on that piece............
As we all know in bidding wars, it is always about "who's the biggest gorilla in the jungle"; and seldom about value to an ernest collector....
IMHO of course
