#1 in 460 S&W

A friend called asking if I know how scarce these are.

He's seen a new-in-box carbine length #1 chambered in 460 S&W.

Anybody know?

I just purchased one today in Wyoming. Excellent condition with a Leupold scope not fired since it was at the factory.

I had a S&W 460 XVR 8 3/8" barrel. Brutal recoil. Fearsome muzzleblast and noise. I liked it a lot !
Until, that is, arthritis in my wrist and shooting hand told me, loudly, no more !

The 460 S&W and 475 Linebaugh were offered in the No.1 right after I spent years and $ converting existing rifles to custom ones in 445 SuperMag and 500 S&W. Sometimes timing is everything!

I also saw one of these recently that had Boddington checkering on the forearm and standard #1 checkering on the wrist.
Curious what the one looks like that your friend saw.

It's been almost 2 years since I started this thread and I don't remember now.
I did hold it in my hands though and passed as he was firm at $1250
At the time I just didn't know enough about them to "gamble" the money
