Just noticed Davidson's has over 50 1-B's in 257 (Roberts I assume). Also a bunch in 243 and a few other calibers. They seem to be getting a bunch of 1-B's lately.

Last summer (2012) after Ruger announced the discontinuation of the the "B" they sent me a 264 Win Mag. They made a run of it and 300 Win Ma in "B" in July 2012. In talking to contacts at Ruger it was alluded that they would be making runs of a few "B" each year and realeasing them direct to the wholesalers without notice.

This seems to be that program.

Strange doings on several counts.

Ruger has eliminated its large spares and parts inventories, or so we have been told.

It is only marketing one B model in this year's catalogue.

They do make special runs but only on contract to Distributors and in big enough numbers to justify setting up for it. Yet Davidsons has several 'odds and sods' 1Bs in very small quantities. Are any other distributors in on this action?

Never but never say never about Ruger.

wunbe,

What makes this interesting to me is the "B" models.

There are NO "B's" in this years catalog.

Not for a few years I think.

I don't think these are Davidsons Specials (specifically) or something like Lopseys guns that are in fact a special order and exclusive to them. . What I was told last year was that "Ruger" would simply make some "Bs" in a couple of cartridges, not catalog or even announce them and simply ship them out to the WHOLESALERS through their normal wholesale channels. This looks exactly like what they described last summer as the "future" of the "B".

It'll make it hard to track stuff in terms of collecting simply because they won't ever be cataloged.

Thankfully I already have several 257 #1 "B".

Thanks for this. Not a big fan of the B, but still interesting as a 257 Roberts.
