Hello and good morning fellas. New member, first post. A little background. I love ruger revolvers and of course the 10/22. I did, just last week, finally get my hands on a no 1. Im looking to mount an older 3x9 leupold and am looking for Leupold rings 50216. High glossy. Apparently, these are discontinued. Ive been searching for gently used or new old stock to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? Happy to talk about the rifle as well. I am waiting for ruger to get back to me in re a (different number) on the action. Maybe a discussion for a different category. Anyway, good to be here, im sure yall will be an invaluable source of info!

This is why im here. Not sure what the correct ruger rings are...I am a fan of Leupold. Have used them forever. I dont wanna remove the existing rear site...ramp/rail as i like the look, if that makes a difference. Ill check them out. Thank you. It should be noted the glossy finish is whats making this a bit difficult. The Leupold rings can be found without issue.

The Ruger No. 1 uses proprietary rings that were usually furnished with the gun at purchase. You might try eBay, lots of stuff turns up on there. Good luck, and welcome to the forum.

What ever you decide on, make sure to get the proper torque specs for that scope from Leuopold. You probably are already aware of that. Just a friendly suggestion.

Why high rings? It's always best for good cheek weld when shooting to have your scope mounted as low to the barrel as possible, without touching the barrel! If you're mounting a scope with a large objective lens, you might need higher than low rings but I've never been a fan of large objective lens -- but to each his own!

Did you find your rings yet? I have a set of used Ruger blue medium height rings and a set on new high rings that I don't need. How old is you scope? One of the problems with Ruger No.1 rifles is that depending on the scope you sometimes can not get the scope back far enough for the proper eye relief without a set of offset rings. A lot of newer scopes are too short, especially the space between the turrets and where the front bell starts. I think I also might have a set of blue offset rings, have to check.
I havent found any yet. I was waiting to see if azgeno was gonna have something. My research pretty much tells me what you've said above. Im mounting an old vx2, 3x9. Im pretty sure it'll work with the high mounts. It has that old longer tube. I think ill be able to get it back far enough. Shoot me an email if you would. Address is in a post above. Thanks man.

The design is proprietary Ruger, as such that's how you'll find them referenced from Leupold, Burris, and if you can find them...from Redfield and Millett..
