KLR died last year after 10 years and around 45,000 miles. The bottom melted out of the clean side of the air box and dusted the engine. I have a 1976 CB750 that I got because the family couldn't find the paperwork for 20 years after the owner died so I'm getting around to swapping that into the KLR. It will be even more epic. The ST was an amazing score after the elderly owner low sided it doing some body damage but little else. After the KLR the ST is a bit of a Culture Shock!!! I can pretty much keep up with anything on the road now. It's like going from a 4 cylinder CJ5 to an Impala SS!!!
I rode the ST1100 years ago. Super smooth engine. Will the KLR frame fit the 750-4 without cutting or maybe just motor mount relocation?
Actually I can cut both lower frames from the steering head and swingarm pivot and everything will pretty much line up. I'll probably have to make the gas tank about 8" wider and completely rework the under side to make room for the engine, coil packs etc. I'll also need to figure out a sprocket adapter to accommodate the larger chain.
Yeah gas for the boat alone would cover the couple 10mm's and ammo!!!
I've been eyeing the M&P. I like the M&P 2.0 40 Compact I have. I've thought of using woods carry as an excuse. I have an old musical instrument I haven't used since high school. I might see if I can convert it into a gun or two.
I bought a Ruger LC carbine 10mm when they first came out. I still haven't fired it. Probably should sell it. I also have a TNW 10mm carbine that I have had and used for years. Both guns use Glock mags as well as 29-round SGM mags.
It's toast. Cams and Crank wiped.
It usually falls on the same weekend as my Anniversary. That one year fell on a different one. After 43 years I don't usually push my luck. It's not our of the question though.
Curious as to why you prefer the TNW over the Ruger LC? I'm not defending either gun- I'd just like to know why that is your preference other than the fact that you own a TNW and have personal experience with it. I own both BTW.
Bottom melted out of the air box letting the engine suck raw dirty air dusted the engine. That and 45,000 extremely hard miles hauling me around.
I went over to Delaware a few months ago with a bunch of Crotch Rockets for some notoriously lightly patrolled farm roads. I got my Chicken strips down to 3/8" and ground the edges of my boots down considerably. I might make it down that way at some point.
Part of me couldn't wait for an excuse to replace that engine with something else. Another part of me misses it. I couldn't buy a ticket for over 10 years. Worst I could have gotten was Attempted Speeding!!!
Not really familiar with the Ruger... but i guess if it can be 10mm then go for it.
