that is my old three screw 357 in the pic and yes it has a Keith #5 on it. the 41 Blackhawk is just a bone stock new model.By far,, you are NOT the first person to do that.

Very true. I have knife handles made from Sambar and there is almost no pith. Awesome stuff.
I would have done the same thing -- just to get those grips. I once sold a rifle to a guy who bought it just to get the stock! It was a discontinued Pacific Research stock that handled recoil better than a muzzle brake! After he bought the rifle, he told me he didn't want the rifle, he only wanted the stock because he recognized it!
