Recommended improved rear sight for Ruger Blackhawk .357 with six inch barrel?

While this thread is a few years old,, I was gonna mention the RW/Garza rear sight insert. It's already mentioned.

I'm awaiting the delivery on another pair right now.
Tyrone, I appreciate your willingness to share experience with products on this site. Quite often I use the search function on here just to satisfy my own curiosity. Seems like I am always knocking the dust off of some old post with sage advice in it. And lo and behold, your name is attached lol.
I ordered the #6 a month ago from RW along with some other goodies.
Veeman turned me onto Fleabay for the Ghost ring sight. Gonna give one a shot. See how my old eyes like it.
I bought and installed 2 of these old MMC blades that I found on sleazebay. They're nice, but I know that RW will be a vast improvement.

I used the RW/Garza rear sight, as well as a Garza front on my .357 Maxi that I took the first whitetail with using a Bradshaw/Martin bullet. And I took another one this year,, using the same gun with the RW brass, the Bradshaw Bisley one.
That one gun has those mods to it as a tribute to David Bradshaw,, plus to recognize Fermin & Ronnie.

thedogdidit,, I apologize if you see my name so much. I just try & offer my personal knowledge & hope it helps others. I can also post stuff that is incorrect when it comes to some of the Ruger history/knowledge. Especially when dealing with New Models!

If you feel the need to apologize, then my meaning was unclear. I am thanking you for always being there for us.

I love the Bowen sights. My favorite is the Backcountry,WO.They lock down like a bank vault, no blade wobble at all

I have them on my S+W's and Rugers. What I never hear anyone mention ,on everyone,my group size has shrunk,1/2".That's due to getting rid of the blade wobble.Thats a big deal to me,plus no worries about impact shift.

I always had to wait for mine to come in,but we'll worth the wait.I thought they were still going to sell parts. Is that not true?

I have no doubt that Bowen's rear sight is the premier, best grade sight. But when I spoke with Ham, he said he wouldn't offer different notch widths (0.125) because that was a factory dimension that had worked best with the factory width (0.125) front sights on their single actions. I've always preferred, then made and installed, narrower width front sight blades for my Ruger single actions. Then depending on barrel length (and according to some sage advice from Fermin Garza and David Bradshaw) rear notch width could/should then be adjusted to best match the custom front sight width and your vision acuity.
