LCR in 32 H&R

I was reading a review of the SW 432UC on GlockTalk and the poster stated that he expected issues with his 432 because of the 32 cal. Is there some reason the 32 H&R revolver would have more issues than say a 38Spl? Are the primers harder?

You do know Ruger and other manufacturers have websites that can answer all your "do they still make this or that" questions right?....they have available calibers, finishes, descriptions, specifications and, wait for it....pictures! The things they think of these days....it's amazing....;)
 
I'm assuming they're made, as I ran into this by accident. It says it's one of the Lipsey's that were produced. The picture shows black, but I'm guessing it's Bronze. The upside to only being .32 H&R vs. .327 Fed Mag should be the 13 oz. vs. 17 oz. Oh, I decided to order one, so you may want to get one while you can. I'm not sure of the future of these?

The issues I've heard about with the 432 isn't caliber related. It's poor QC coming out of S&W. It's been kind of hit or miss. I've got a 432 and haven't had issues. But I've only got a few 100 rounds through it.

I'm not sure they make an LCR in .32 H&R, but the LCR in .327 mag shoots them just fine. Probably 95% of what I shoot out of my LCR are .32 H&R. Never had a problem.
 
The LCR in 32 mag was a one off by Lipseys.
Now S&W has decided to make a J frame in 32mag.
I don't see why there would be issues. Far as I know there is nothing inherently wrong with the 32mag.
 
I have a .32 Mag Single Six I use for pasture carry. The .32 Mag can be loaded with +P reloading data to just about equal the 9X19. Regular velocity loads with SWC bullets do a fine job on possums and armadillos.
 
So, I thought the one I ordered from J&G Sales was the last of the Lipsey's, but I'm finding others in-stock for as low as $388 from drop shippers. These are black with fiber optic front. No info. from Ruger or Lipsey's on these. I'm not sure if these are a new release or have been around for a while. But here's a few dealers offering these.

Lipsey's originally did a significant run of them in .32H&R. Apparently they were enough of a hit that S&W decided to join the fun. Now it is a standard catalog item. (for who knows how long) There's nothing wrong with the round. It is quite good actually. My EDC is a 3" SS .327 Fed Mag SP101. I wouldn't go down to half the weight even with a .32H&R ceiling but I shoot for enjoyment not for insane recoil. My ideal EDC would be the unicorn, a 3" GP100 SS .327 Fed Mag 8 shot. Congrats on a fine purchase. Looking forward to your report.
 
The beauty of .32 is finding the right balance of weapon weight you'll actually carry and recoil tolerance. My intent with this particular LCR is to let my wife try it and see what she thinks. Along with my S&W 432. If .32 H&R mag works for her, great, otherwise I can drop it down to .32 S&W Long wadcutters. And at just under 14 oz., she can easily put it in a purse without adding much weight. Nothing wrong with the heavier .327 Fed Mag version (I use to have one), but if you're never going to shoot that round, I think a lighter .32 H&R mag makes sense.
 
I feel so lucky to not suffer from this recoil intolerance many seem to talk about.

Only time I had a problem was with a friends Ruger Super Redhawk in 480 he hand loaded HOT and my 357 LCR equipped with the hard rubber boot grips. Half a dozen rounds from either of those is a world of plenty.

For discussion purposes, say your wife finds .32 H&R too hot so it's got .32 S&W Long in it. And let's say you have the 17oz .327 Fed Mag and she finds .32 H&R tolerable in it. Yes, she's got to have it with her but if she'd carry the 17oz gun, which is only 4 oz. more at most and basically nothing in the grand scheme of a woman's purse, wouldn't it be better to have the heavier gun?

Done this with both of my LCRs (38/9mm). It helps a fair bit but I'm still stuck with that rear sight gutter. Put a XS orange dot on my K6S which has nice 3-dots with the rear sight which helps alot. The Big Dot is nice for the SP-101 IMHO.

Think that'll work well with the 6-shots and the weight is on par with the Smith 632.

I can think of no good reason to shoot the .327 mags from an LCR; much like the .357s in the other frame. Light gun with alot of bark and bite (with big muzzle blast as well as significant flash which is a consideration for low light ops).

I've found a major consideration with higher power loadings in a snubby is what they throw out the front end. It might be you only have to use them during the day outdoors in which case this isn't a big deal. But at night and/or in an enclosed space flash blindness and long term hearing damage from a few rounds might be a player.

Got a K6S (which is all steel and a bit heavier but still short barrel) and have shot .357 as well as .38 through the 2" barrel. There are some moderate .357 loads I'd consider in the shorter barrel gun (the underwood copper 125s don't have too much blast and flash and recoil is manageable) but even so it prolly isn't worth it for the short barrel over .38+Ps.

Sure, that makes senses. But the other part I didn’t mention is when I want to pocket carry it. I don’t like heavy guns in my pocket. One of the reasons I got rid of the .327 LCR. Where I don’t find my 13 oz .38 LCR that bad in my pocket.

Well, all that matters is what's best for your wife and her safety. 13oz. 17oz. you're a man! Man up and carry the weight that best supports your wife! Or get a second one for you of your choice.

And please take that in the manner intended. (My pocket carry is a 3" .327 SP101, 27oz.) Tru-Spec cargoes FTW.

If you want one buy your own (said with a smile), to me my carry guns are "personal" equipment.
Your wife should feel the same. 😊 let her shoot em' and make the pick (she may like the heavier one)
Get the 13 oz for your pocket, if she likes it buy 2

Those are not the original exclusive run. Those were a bronze color.
If they've added them to their regular catalog that's cool, I was not aware.

Yes, I was aware of the original bronze ones. I had no idea what these were when I ordered one. I'm guessing these are new releases, as they seem to be in-stock at several places. It took a while to find some info. on these. The best part is they're $150 or so cheaper than the bronze. And come with the hi-viz sight. Mines scheduled to be delivered to my FFL today.
 
S&W has reintroduced the 632 / 432 as another option.

Use quality ammunition (Federal, Hornady, Buffalo Bore), inspect it for proper cylinder alignment, and enjoy its unique low-recoil, high-capacity format. The "issues" are more about mechanical precision in a tiny package than about the cartridge itself.
