I have a 637, a 642 and an LCR. Also have an LCP just in case. i have a Kimber LW custom 1911 but although I have been tempted, I haven't carried it yet. My major issue is, I have to get used to wearing a belt. I need better quality shorts..lol

A 642 is always available. The 365 Sig in it's original form just works for me, 95% of the time. The other 5% is pocket carry with the 642. The 642 recent manufacture is regulated for 120-125 grain bullets. The Federal punch 120 grain 38 out of a 2" is routinely recorded at 912-920 fps.

Absolutely brutal.
I know a lot of people complain about the .357 340pd, but it doesn’t bother me at all. The .454 Alaskan is pretty tame. The.44 Magnum 329 has a brutal recoil.

A lot of good suggestions. I’ve probably owned most of them some time or the other. I think the LCR in whatever caliber you are comfortable with is the best choice. I personally use LCR with 32 wad cutters myself.

I just posted about this one separately. Ronnie Wells aluminum PJ JR grip frame on a 3.75” Ruger Bisley SBH. Dropped weight from 43oz to 37oz, which is similar to the S&W model 69. I think the 69 is an awesome, controllable Goldilocks hip carry big-bore packing pistol.

I carry 38 cal hard wad cutters in my 357 LCR. I understand they hit hard and make a hole. Lower recoil than +P.

Simply Rugged makes a nice cross draw holster that they call a Joe Friday. They are not cheap but I think their holsters are great. 638 Bodyguard Airweight on the left and 1973 Colt Detective Special on the right.

Hey! That would be a great choice for my old Colt, with the strap under the trigger guard instead of over the hammer.
Opposite side of the Joe Friday holster with the Detective Special. The holster is an OWB style that rides high and meant to be worn under a jacket. I'm sure Joe would have liked it. MeTV runs Dragnet at 5am weekdays and I catch it sometimes if I am up.

Now I'm going to show you boys a dark horse, THE brand that makes everyone "in the know" cringe when they hear the name; "Taurus"! Well, I have had okay luck with Taurus 85 series small frame revolvers, and I wish I had this little guy back :
Yep, a Taurus "No view" View. They made this with a clear sideplate which was dumb, but they also made some with the metal sideplate, and in .38 spl, you don't get much smaller. It shot every time and I could hit "okay" with it (it's a belly gun!)
