Nice. Do you have a preference LCR or J frame?

I'm a big fan of J Frame black Centennials. I have a 442, and 340pd. But the M&P 340 is an interesting one. Because of its big dot front and U rear sights.

I also have a 317 in silver finish, it is crazy light even when loaded. I would love to have a 43C or 351C

Then I have a couple of scandium N frames.

My favorite is the 340pd with 38's

As much as I like the old school deep dark blue and wood grips on revolvers ….. you can't argue with the finish applied to new guns like my LCR above.

Gun was new in 2013. Bought it at a local store's "Black Friday" special for $299.00. Ordered the grips from Ruger and have carried it daily for the last 11 years. That is part of the reason I don't carry vintage flat latch S&W 36.

I've been considering a smaller 357 for summer carry but I think the LCR (17 oz IIRC) is the lightest I would go because I'd want to be able to use the hotter +p loads and light 357s like the Golden Saber. I think it might be a little too much in the scandium J frames.

I actually found a used 357 LCR at a decent price recently but I put the small 357 on the back burner for now. That'll probably be right before next summer.

The 38 LCR is a bit lighter than the 357 and will still handle a pretty stout round.
As I get older I appreciate that mine came with that red front site.
Every time I buy a 38 only revolver I regret it 🤣 last one was a 642 and I justified it by telling myself "you won't want to shoot 357 in a gun that light anyway" about 2 weeks after that I found a used 360 for not much more than I paid for the 642. Lesson learned! The only 38s I'm really interested in are the heavy duty ones I know can handle the 38/44 Underwood loads and stuff like that. Basically the 38 SP101 and Six revolvers or the S&W 38/44s. I can't lie though, my mother has the 38 LCR and I'm still amazed by the lack of recoil. She has the bigger grips that come on the 3 inch models though.

Interesting scale... What's it intended for "originally"?

J.
Milk? Water? It is interesting. I googled it, it is so you can measure milk or water volume on the scale.

Set it to either water or milk and it will convert the weight to fluid ounces. Milk and water have different densities so need different settings.

My New Charter arms Coyote (380) came in yesterday. Loved it at the range. Will give full report later. 14 oz. with moon Clips.

Put boot grips on a 357 LCR and your hand will regret it LOL
Oh I'm sure of that! I really don't intend to run full power 357s in a gun that light but I'd like to use some of the hotter +p loads without worry. It just gives you more options. I never felt right using something like Underwood or Buffalo Bore in the 642 or even the older but slightly hotter established +p loads. I'm not even talking Speer #8 hot more like Hodgdon #26
