The most expensive .22 that I have is a 1st year 96/22. The rifle itself was very reasonably priced.... It was the adventure attached to getting the rifle that was costly.
I bought it from a member of the ROCS and I'm sure some of the members of this forum will remember the funny associated story which included a 168 mile ride in a tow truck.
Maybe nice to look at BUT. I bought one in 22lr to convert to 17HM2 when they weren't collector items=expensive. Gave up on that idea due to the unacceptable trigger pull. If one likes to look at them, go for it.
