Stupid people & bear cubs

Yesterday,, I had a very long day working. When I got home,, Miss Penny said she'd recorded the local news for me,, and I needed to watch it.
My first reply was; "Good or bad?"
She replied; "Stupidity."

Well, apparently in the last few days,, some local people found (3) very small black bear cubs in a shorter tree. Short enough to where these IDIOTS,, decided to catch the cubs, take pictures with them etc. They were videoed doing this.
It was obvious that the cubs were distressed by all this.,
Sadly,,, momma bear didn't get a chance to "educate" these IDIOTS,, and somehow two of the cubs were able to be released & went back to momma.
Even worse,, due to a fence & all,,, the 3rd cub was NOT able to get back with momma, and by the time a NC Wildlife Biologist arrived,, the lone, single cub was running all around, lost. Momma not to be found. They captured the cub & sent it to a "rehab" facility,, so it might get a chance at survival.

An investigation into this is ongoing by the NC Wildlife Commission.

IDIOTS,, that must truly believe that all animals are Disney created, and they can easily interact w/o regards for their safety, or the potential disaster they may create for these young bears.


If I had been there,, I would have likely gone to jail,, for the way I would have "educated" these women & one guy.

Stupidity knows no boundaries. I hope the authorities charge them

Actually it's a good thing mama didn't educate them. She would have paid the price for their stupidity.

I call it the "Disney effect".
All the cute little animals have names, mommies, brothers & sisters, and daddies that love them!
They understand EVERY word we say!!
What would a few "selfie pics" hurt?
We are all friends, and they will just go back home for dinner, and is well.

There are some truly ignorant people in the world and I guess I'm no longer surprised when you read
about it. As Contender already pointed out, too bad mother bear wasn't close.
A couple of paw swipes upside the brainless ones heads might have been educational.

Too bad Darwin couldn't hand out an award or two... There is only one thing I truly, truly hate with a white-hot passion in this world, and that is stupidity.

Anyway, I hope the 3rd cub does okay.

Just to get a chuckle out of a bad situation... I still remember the Saturday Night Live skit where Dan Aykroyd was being interview and he was a guy who had written a book about his summer vacation in Yellowstone or some such place and how he decided to hold a marshmallow in between his lips and feed it to a bear.....the make up artist for the show had done a pretty good job on him.

These morons should go before a judge and be fined heavily for their offenses and they should be also educated. By this I mean sit in classroom for dolts interacting with nature and learn what they did was dangerous to them and more importantly the cubs. Sit and watch videos of what can happen to idiots who try to interact with bear cubs when mama bear is nearby and the watch what happens to cubs who are assimilated with stupid humans and end up getting shot when approaching other humans when they get older and larger. And to end the idiot trifecta judge involuntary volunteer them to shovel bear yugo of a nearby zoo for a couple weeks.

I have to deal with wildlife issues daily. And some of it is directly because of the stupidity of people. They put out bird feeders, and then get upset when a bear destroys it. I've actually had a few people say to me something like; "I put this food out for the birds. I like watching the birds. Why can't the bears stay in the woods away from my bird feeders?"

But these idiots who actually pulled these cubs out of a tree,, falls into the top 10 of the most stupid stuff I've seen with wildlife.

IDIOTS just wanting selfies. Now I KNOW I would have gone to jail if I had caught them doing this. At least 2 male types, and 4 female types involved. IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope they have to pay to have that 3rd baby cub rehabilitated. That's just crazy to think about doing something like that.

On the positive side, that 3rd baby cub will probably do all right and either be released into the wild or spend her time at a zoo. Zoo's are improving at least. I know it's still like animal prison, but they are getting better.

Full fledged charter members of the Richard Cranium Society and potential Darwin Award candidates. They should be rolled in honey and shredded salmon and served to a grizzly bear....

Ya just can't fix "stupid" though. The truly sad part of it all is, had momma bear attacked and injured one of them they would have complained and had her 'put down' as being dangerous.

What a bunch of total morons and idiots who deserve to spend time in jail nd cleaning up bear cages at the local zoo. FINE THEM loads of money too to pay for the care of the third cub.

IDIOTS is a very appropriate assessment of these folks. Get the memo, "Leave the wildlife alone". They are lucky momma bear didn't put them up a short tree.

EVERY time I think I've heard it all, I get educated to the fact that there's always more stupid people being born from idiot parents every day.

I have some really exotic fruits in my yard and I expect wildlife (such as it is in south Florida) to take some but I draw the line at fruit rats. They get to meet Mr. Crossman

Years ago, here locally, some Karen decided she wanted to pet a black bear cub. She baited it in and then grabbed it. Momma bear smacked the stupid off her and ran off with ber cub, sadly because it attacked a person the bear was trapped and euthanized
