Man, I want one of those.
Very accurate with the right loads and fun to shoot. I really like the grips and are comfortable even with stout loads. Ruger has done a great job on the latest variations. Mine is a keeper. Let us know how you do with yours.

The basic gun is great but the dressed-up version is AWESOME.

Thanks all for looking and commenting. I was actually sorta looking for a Smith and the LGS had a Performance Center 8 shot but man oh man.... the cost. This caught my eye and I had read some really good reviews concerning the gun. Once I picked it up I was sold, love the fiber optics too! $699.
I will say I only got one sight so I guess I'll call Ruger today.

Ruger will tell you it only comes with the one sight and the write ups talking about two were in error. At least that's what they told me.
Mine is awesome right out of the box. Shoots 5 all touching at 15 yds and only a tad bigger at 25. I did change the hammer strut spring with a wolf one size lighter and the action is smooth and crisp. One of the best Rugers I have and in the top five fun to shoot.

The write-ups were not in error.
The gun initially was intended to ship with two, and did, till the decision was later made to only ship with one.
The early sample I had came with two, and when I asked my rep about reports coming in about only one, that was the answer I got.
Apparently a cost issue.

My only "objection" is the fixed rear sight. If your point of hold and point of impact agree, great. If not you are hosed or you are going to spend a LOT of time on load development.

I bought it cause I really like the feel, trigger, grips and style of the gun. I also like the fiber sight. In my opinion it's a much better value over what Smith has to offer in a 357 and I am a S&W owner and big fan.

Rather than load development, I would think it would be a simple matter of indexing the barrel properly and/or judicious use of a file on the front sight height.22/45 Fan said:

Mine finally came in. Pictures don't do it justice. Good looking and great feeling gun. Tight. Smoother than my other GP100. Feels lighter too.
The grips felt good in my hand but at the range I struggled using them. They simply didn't feel like they filled my hand enough. I switched them out and the groups got better immediately.
The only loads I've tested in it are the Lee 358-158 RF in both 357 and 38. Both shot pretty well. A commercial 38 special load from PMC (FMJ) shot VERY well in this gun. My other 38's and 357's don't shoot that ammo well at all but the MC loved them.
I haven't really tested the sights at enough ranges to decide if I like them better or not. I don't typically change the sight setting on my other GP and this one seems to be shooting right on with 158gr bullets. I've got some 125 gr to try and will test it at longer ranges soon.
I like my other GP a lot. I'm liking this one more and more with each trip to the range.

Filing the front sight has it's limits as the MC has a fiber optic sight and you can't file it much. Also if the front sight is too short you are really out of luck as you can't file it taller.varminter22 said:
It's a lot simpler to get out a small screwdriver and just make the adjustments that way if the rear sight allows it.
