I am of the same generation as ole Wiley. I've always loved what he could do when tweaking a revolver. Especially a self defense revolver. This is my favorite 357 and it comes from Wiley's inspiration and Rugers engineering and manufacturing. KUDOs to both parties.

Great GP, General Purpose or Grand Prize Ruger. Should be able to shoot the lights out with that cool old Blaster. Buffalo Bore 158 LSWHP+P rounds will shoot in that gun forever. 38/44 load the BB is. 1175 fps out of your 4" GP. For everyday use 158 grain 38s. Your grandkids will be shooting...

That Ruger is plenty strong enough for that dovetail, notice the location. Ahead of where top straps break loose from the rest of the frame.
