I bought my AR-556 (#8500) back in the summer of 2016 ($479 OTD). Mine has the Ruger Phoenix stamped on the charging handle. I heard that the newer AR-556 (2019 and newer) don't have the Ruger Phoenix stamped on the charging handle. Is this true? Someone told me that they saw an ad on ARMSLIST...

I have never used REMOIL. Doesn't it have Teflon in it?

What are you putting on your barrel to keep the surface rust free? I would like to try some of what you're using.

I have taken my AR556 out in the very early morning humidity here in Louisiana, just to get very small patches of surface rust on the barrel. And, I am very anal about keeping the whole gun lubed with Ballistol or Hoppes gun oil. I have built 7 AR's prior to owning my AR556, so I do have the...

S&W makes a great AR. In fact, I own the Sport I. Ruger did an excellent job when it introduced the screw type delta ring. I can change out my hand guards without needing a third hand or any tools. As far as the front sight pins, who cares. They work, right?

I would contact Ruger and see what they have to say about it.

I'm seriously thinking about swapping out my AR556 barrel, or having it Nitride coated, inside and out. Opinions? (Try not to beat me up too bad.)
