What was your 2010 gun purchases?

    An SP101 DAO 357, a 5.5" Lipsey's 44 Flattop, an S&W 696 44 spl, an S&W 686+ Talo 357, a Chief's Special CS9, an M&P 9c, a stainless steel Bearcat, a Bond Arms Snake Slayer in 45 colt, and a Judge. Sheesh, I think I might have overdone it! Well, no.

    SP101 Trigger Filing

I wouldn't use a Dremel unless you are extremely careful. And only then to rough it in. Emery cloth wrapped around a popsickle stick, or a jeweler's file will be slower and safer. Coarse grit to start and 400 grit to finish. Take your time. I did my trigger edges this way and I'm very happy...

    Dry Fire question SP101

I dry fired my SP101 about 2000 times with lapping compound, grease and oil to smooth out the trigger. Made a big difference.

    SP101 Double action revolver

I have the same gun except for the laser. I really like it! I changed the trigger springs and used lapping compound with dry firing to smooth up the trigger. Now it works well and has a bit of a step just before firing. Makes it easy to be accurate. The hammerless design and fixed sights...

Anybody else notice - the .44 special is alive again?

I've got a Lipsey's Flattop 44 spl and a Smith 696 44 spl. They are both really fun! I really wish Ruger would make a GP100 in 44 spl. Wow! It could be a better gun than either the Rossi 44 or the Smith 696, with it's rugged and simple design. Has Ruger ever even considered making one?

What caliber should I buy next?

BTW, a 1911 is a 45 caliber SA. Just a little different. -- Sam Exactly. The same, but not the same at all.

What caliber should I buy next?

tek, It sounds like you would rather reload a 45 than a 44. Is that right? I don't reload either one but I'm curious as to why that is. I'm also confused at how a 1911 would satisfy someone that wanted to shoot a 45 caliber SA.

What caliber should I buy next?

I'm thinking about this too. Aren't the 9mm bullets about .002 smaller than the .357? I've read that accuracy of 9mm in a .357 is not that great, but I have no experience with that myself. It seems the 45LC and 45 ACP might be better because the bullets are closer in size and the gun is...

    I spied 2 (two) Ruger/Lipsey's 44 Spl

Now that I've read that the new Flattop Blackhawk 44 is in the cataloge for 2010 I'm wondering if there is anyway to distinguish the Lipseys from the regular Rugers? I'm wondering if mine might not be a Lipsey (haven't picked it up yet). Not that it makes any difference, but is there any...

    I spied 2 (two) Ruger/Lipsey's 44 Spl

Noresman, Thanks for the heads up on the Lipsey! I was just surfing around and came upon this site and your message. It was Saturday evening. So I called on Monday Morning and got a Lipsey 44 with the 5.5" barrel. My local gun shop had already told me there was not much chance of finding...
