Thoughts on Redhawk in .45 Colt?

If grobin is walking around with a cocked Redhawk in a holster, I don't want to be within 2 miles of him. That is the most insane thing I've ever heard on a revolver gun forum.

    my bear thumper

My bear thumper is a 4 inch Redhawk 45 with 345 grain Beartooth bullet at 1235 fps. My other bear thumper is a 5.5 inch Redhawk 44M with 355 grain Beartooth bullet at 1221 fps.

My 22/45 Mk IV doesn't have one either.

Redhawk 45Colt/45 ACP light primer Strike

I have 2 Redhawks and have spent a lot of time trying to get the right balance between hammer springs and light strikes. This is what I've learned (and my opinion on a few things) - The factory spring is too heavy for DA shooting. Forget about it. Many (most) people with the factory 17 lb...

    SP 101 versus LCR

You aren't going to work on the trigger of the LCR. They don't come apart for cleaning or disassembly.

    AR-556 MPR

Scribe a line across the screw onto the top of the BCG and you'll be able to see if it moves.

    AR-556 MPR

I've heard that the MPR uses an unshrouded firing pin BCG. If so, then it's not a super value. Not after you have to replace the BCG.

    Ruger 454 Alaskan ammo

The reason why the BuffaloBore ammo works is because they use bullets from Rimrock and those bullets have a deep and wide crimp groove.

Are Ruger semis as reliable as Glocks?

My XD's and XDs have been 100% reliable since day one. No FTF, FTE or any other failure. They work right out of the box. And no one has ever shot themselves in the leg or the butt while sitting down with an XD, driving with an XD, holstering an XD, tossing an XD on the bed or any other...

    Bear Defense gun

This is true for all of us. But, what about practice and becoming proficient with the gun? How many full power rounds can you shoot at the range with those grips?

    Bear Defense gun

This is a proper bear gun in 44 Mag. 355 grain bullet at 1221 fps average. 5.5 inch Redhawk with Pachmayr Presentation grips. Of your two choices I would go with the Alaskan because of the rubber grips. That round butt Redhawk is going to be painful with the wooden grips and I don't think the...

    Ruger Redhawk, .45 Colt/ .45acp

How many of you guys that are telling the OP to stick to the factory spring are actually shooting double action?

    Ruger Redhawk, .45 Colt/ .45acp

I have 2 Redhawks and I have been experimenting with Wolff springs for a few years. What I have learned is: 1. The factory spring is awful. Too heavy. I cannot shoot accurately double action with the factory spring. 2. CCI primers are your enemy. They are a problem for both Ruger and for...
