    SR9 failure to eject

Thanks for the quick feedback; I'll take a look this weekend at it. Video makes it look pretty easy. Damn, I've learned more on this board in 3 weeks about guns than the previous 34 years of my life. Appreciate everyone's help, especially with a novice like me.

    SR9 failure to eject

Any good diagrams or videos on removing extractor? Field stripping and removing the striker channel and mag disconnect is about as far as I feel comfortable. Thanks.

    SR9 failure to eject

Thanks for the advice guys; I spent an hour yesterday cleaning the gun after field stripping and removing the striker channel. Some sludge/grease, but not too much. I'll get it out on the range this weekend and report back.

    SR9 failure to eject

I've only put about 250 rounds or so through my SR9, which I purchased last month. Yesterday at the range, firing about 100 rounds of Independence ammo (first time I have used that ammo in this gun) I had 4 instances of the weapon failing to eject the spent round. Kind of surprised me. Now, I...

    New SR9 owner...cleaning?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Taking the gun to the range for the first time Saturday to put a few rounds through it; will pick up a cleaning kit (bore snake was recommended) at the store as well and strip/clean it afterward.

    New SR9 owner...cleaning?

Hello, just bought a Ruger SR9 this week. First handgun. Been reading a lot, but just curious how often people here suggest stripping and cleaning a handgun...every 200 rounds? 500 rounds? I give my shotgun a good external wipedown after almost every time I shoot since it takes just a few...

    SR9 slide lock/release

Thanks for the feedback everyone; I did find a previous thread as well from last fall (sorry I didn't originally search) and read through that. Seeing how the manual calls for the slingshot (and especially since the gun is brand new and the slide is tough to release using my thumb anyway) I...

    SR9 slide lock/release

Thanks for the quick reply. I will use the slingshot method; appreciate the tip on not "riding it down."

    SR9 slide lock/release

Just bought a SR9 yesterday after some considerbale research and test shooting; very happy with the purchase. Quick question: At the gun store range, when firing their used SR9 empty and with the slide open, I could push in a new magazine and then press the slide release with my thumb to engage...
